A project-based, personalized writing and grammar curriculum for multi-age homeschool families
Same project. Personal for everyone.
A shared cookbook project your children can work on together—while each child receives a version personalized to their writing and grammar skills.
You don’t choose levels.
You don’t manage differentiation.
You don’t split kids into “easy” and “advanced” versions.
You simply let your children answer a short set of questions.
From those answers, we place each child along the six strands and build their cookbook accordingly.
$45 per child. Family Plan: $89 for up to five children—designed for siblings, friends, or neighbors working together.
The real reason a cookbook works
A cookbook is one of the few real-world formats where language must do something.
If language fails:
The food turns out wrong
The reader gets confused
The writer loses trust
Cookbooks force children to practice:
Descriptive language (so a reader can imagine taste, texture, outcome)
Persuasion (why should someone choose this recipe?)
Commands (clear verbs that tell someone exactly what to do)
Sequencing (what comes first, what cannot come later)
Structural thinking (what information belongs where)
Audience awareness (a beginner cook vs. an experienced one)
This is not creative writing for expression.
This is language as infrastructure.
If a child can:
Describe food clearly
Guide someone through a process
Anticipate reader confusion
Structure instructions that survive real use
They are learning how to:
Explain ideas
Argue persuasively
Give directions
Design systems
Be understood
That’s the future skillset.
What This Is
The Personalized Family Cookbook Project is a secular, project-based writing and grammar Projectbook designed for families with multiple children at different ages or ability levels.
All children work on the same cookbook project.
Each child receives an individually generated version of that project.
This is not a one-size-fits-all activity and it is not age-based.
It is a structured writing project that adapts to how each child actually uses language.
How Personalization Works
Before starting, each child answers a short set of questions.
These questions help us understand two core abilities:
1. Grammar:
How precisely can the child modify language to create vivid, clear description?
2. Writing:
How clearly and intentionally can the child guide a reader through an idea or process?
From those answers, we personalize the cookbook, meaning we place them at the correct Level 1–8 and use only those activities, across six core strands:
Grammar
Adjectives
Adverbs
Structural packaging (from simple lists to parallelism and structural redesign)
Writing
Organization and sequencing
Formatting and features
Audience and tone
Each child receives a cookbook with their name on it, adjusted across all six areas.
What Stays the Same
The project stays the same.
Every child:
Chooses a theme
Writes recipes
Practices descriptive language
Organizes instructions
Designs pages
Produces a finished cookbook
They can work chapter by chapter, side by side, around the same table.
What changes is the thinking required.
What This Looks Like in Real Life
Two children are writing the same recipe.
Child 1 (L1)
The child is asked to add one clear adjective to help the reader imagine the food.
“Warm soup.”
“Soft bread.”
The goal is learning that a single word can change meaning.
Child 2 (L5)
Write with Adjective phrases
“the caramel smooth to the touch”“a bowl warm from the oven”
Child 3 (L7)
Adjective clauses
“the caramel that thickens as it cools”
“a bowl which retains heat evenly”
Same recipe.
Same conversation.
Different cognitive demand.
This same adjustment happens across organization, formatting, and audience.
What Makes This Different
Most writing curricula:
Separate children by age or grade
Require parents to manage multiple levels
Force families to choose between togetherness and rigor
This project separates thinking, not children.
You run one project.
We handle the differentiation.

Step 4
Your children work through the same project together, each at the right level.
